Fillings are one of the most popular methods of restoring your teeth. They do exactly what the name suggests – they fill a hole in the tooth that may have been caused by decay, helping you save the teeth and provide use for many more years.

Fillings are usually required as a result of a cavity or tooth decay. Cavities and tooth decay is usually a result of non-regular brushing or flossing. It’s important to have cavities repaired as soon as possible to prevent further damage and save the tooth.

As time passes, other types of fillings such as; amalgam or silver can make the surrounding tooth appear grey. White fillings are modern, and consist of tooth colour matching filling materials, which give a highly aesthetic result. White fillings are virtually invisible, and will make your teeth appear as white and bright as before.

The white filling material is bonded directly onto the tooth, preventing any further decay of the surrounding tooth structure. They look and feel very natural and can be colour-matched to the surrounding tooth.

The decay is first removed and the area inside the tooth is cleaned. The white filling material is then placed into the cavity in layers, using a special light on each layer to speed up the setting process.

We then shape the filling, to make it look and feel as realistic as possible, ensuring your everyday chew and bite motion is not affected in any way.
